Chinese new year is approaching, most office workers are looking forward to the end of year bonuses. After all, it was a hard financing year for most companies to give bonus. This year, three major Chinese Internet giant Baidu, Tencent and Alibaba (also nicknamed as the three BAT ) were giving huge amount of annual bonuses. Giving bonuses are trivial for these three companies, while most people are feeling envy for those working there.
Baidu founder, Robin Li, in his keynote speech during the Baidu 2014 annual meeting and the 15-year anniversary celebration revealed that at the end of 2014, Baidu took out the largest amount of bonuses to reward its outstanding employees. Even a talented employees can receive bonuses which are equivalent to about 50 months ‘ salary.
Meanwhile, one Alibaba employee with a monthly salary of 20,000 yuan in outstanding employees position disclosed that he had received a year-end bonuses of 150,000 yuan plus 300 shares of Alibaba stock. Based on the current Alibaba share price at around USD100 during the bonuses payout, the bonuses received are equivalent to more than 2 million yuan, also equivalent to 100 months of the employee’s salary. The Tencent’s 2014 bonus for this year is also very attractive, Tencent games department are the most outstanding department and employees received pay out year-end bonuses of up to 96 months’ wages.
