Internet nowadays not only allows us to communicate easily, but also allows people from this planet to plan and organize a mega event globally at the same time through powerful social media tools such as Facebook, Myspace, Youtube, Twitter, blogs, emails and other popular website. One of the most popular event is Earth Hour, an event initiated by WWF.
Earth Hour is a power break for one down hour? Of course not, it is an event that the whole people living in this mother earth together intentionally choose to switch off their light for one hour with alternate arrangements in response to the global warming issue in this decade.
In 2009, more and more people are aware of global warming issue after knowing that the average temperature of Earth is rising, making the Icebergs on the North Pole and South Pole to melt faster, causing flood on anywhere around the lowest parts of the world.
I am sure we all have been informed by newspapers and videos from TV or Internet regarding our earth is sick today. So, please give your support to the Earth Hour day on March 27, 2010 which is also on next week Saturday.
To join this event, what you can do is to switch off all the lights at your location for one hour starting from 8:30 pm (your local time). Event though you might think that you there is nothing to do with global warming by your little effort, but imagine that everyone on this earth is doing this, there must be some impact on this effort to save our beautiful earth.
Hoping that Earth Hour will continue to be a global call to action to every individual, let’s make this one a huge success and you’ll feel good about it for sure once you have switch your light off.
Have fun to power down your lights for one hour!
