Know Windows Shortcut Directory by Drag and Drop to Command Prompt

by JackSimz

This is a cool trick in Windows which most people don’t know about it. I found it very useful for user who wish to find the shortcut of a File in order to get to the Folder Path directory.

To know a where is a shortcut directory located, you can drag and drop the shortcut icon directly to your Windows command prompt. Then, the shortcut directory location will be displayed.

I think this feature should be available in older version of Windows, Windows XP as well as Windows Vista or Windows 7.

Mini Tip:
You can launch your Windows command prompt by go to Start >> All Program >> Accessories >> Command Prompt. (Or type “cmd” in the Run box)
