Microsoft Office Word allows you to create table with Insert >> Table from the top menu.
Do you know that without using a mouse, you can also create a table with rows and columns just by typing String of Plus “+” and Minus “–” signs on your keyboard?
Although essential way to building a great table is by using the table functions to specify number of rows and columns, the Strings method offers you a convenience way in creating small tables in your document as you wish.
You can start creating a table in MS Word by typing a single Plus sign followed by a few Minus signs and make sure you end with a Plus sign. When you hit Enter, a single row of table will be created.

If you wish to create additional rows, use the Tab key to go to the last column of your table and Press the Tab key again. Multiple table rows will be created.
You can always use the shortcut keys Undo (Ctrl + z) to reduce rows or redo (Ctrl + y) to go back.

You will need to go for Tools >> AutoCorrect Options
(For MS Word 2007, go to Word Options located on the top left; choose Proofing to Select AutoCorrect Options)
Select the AutoFormat as You Type tab to tick the Tables check box.
