This surveillance drone known as HELPER is designed for rescue operation. It is equipped with navigation information like GPS, compass & altitude which can help to identify the exact location and difficulty. Then aids the lifeguards, helicopters, jet skis and life boats to rescue the victims.
The drone weighs 4kg (9 lbs) and can be controlled remotely. It’s equipped with an ultra high-definition camera which helps monitor the conditions around. It can resist wind speeds of up to 50kph (31 mph).
The drone was recently tested in France. It takes off from a rescue center near the beach and reach the target location in less than 30 seconds where it immediately deploys a lifebuoy. The lifebuoy automatically inflates upon contact with water. Victims can then approach the lifebuoy while waiting for rescue.
