A scientist from University of Tokyo. Takao Someya created the electronic skin or e-skin with his research group using a circuit. This e-skin is a new electronic skin technology that could turn your body into a computer display.
The creator, Dr. Someya wanted to infuse functions into the e-skin that human or animal skin don’t have. Physically, his e-skin is 10 times thinner than a skin cell and also lighter than a normal feather.
Researchers say that the e-skin is virtually indestructible and can be worn like second skin or temporary tattoo. Its light emitting diodes flex as the wearer’s skin move.
Alternatively, the e-skin could also be used to monitor our health. It may even be applied to robots, textiles, or prosthetics. Would you wear e-skin and use it in your daily activities?
