The download of (Windows Internet Explorer 8) IE8 beta 2 is available from the Microsoft website. The IE 8 Beta is aimed at developers, Microsoft is asking for people to go and try out their new browser.
The browser comes with a lot of new features such as:
Accelerators– allow you to do browsing and emailing faster with just fewer clicks
Compatibility view– enables you to display Web sites that were designed for older browsers.
InPrivate Browsing– prevents Internet Explorer from adding sites you visit to history (it’s for secret gift shopping)
Search Suggestions– predict what you are searching for
Smartscreen filter– protects you from deceptive and malicious Web sites
Web slices– keeps you up to date with your favourite Web site (like RSS)
Some people have said that after installing Internet Explorer 8 Beta, some experienced a number of browser crashes, some said good.
Microsoft does say that with this new browser you are able to recover tabs, this will help prevent the loss of any work that you have done.
If you have a Google and Yahoo toolbar installed, it would not upgrade the browser to IE 8 as it could crash.
You can download the beta version from the Microsoft Website link below.

Jacksim-
Hi, my name’s Cody, and I’m working with the Internet Explorer Outreach Team to help answer questions foks might have about Internet Explorer 8.
I thought you might like to know that Internet Explorer 8 is now officially out of its beta phase. As of this week, Internet Explorer 8 RC1 has become available for download. This is a much more stable version of the browser, and it closely resembles what the final version of the browser will eventually look like. Here’s a link to the download if you’re interested: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/beta/worldwide-sites.aspx?ocid=ie8_sm_a
